OUIL503 Resubmission Module Evaluation

This Re-Submission has shown me the importance of blogging although I still find it very difficult just to blog regularly as I think that when I walk things out with other people or with myself I mentally check it off as thinking I’ve blogged it or it’s something that everybody understands without explanation. However you can’t do that when working on briefs because then you end up no being able to show or reflect on work that has not been physically document and a client may want to see how the work has progressed and may prefer previous draft ideas to what you give them. This also helps stop plagiarism and copyright issues that of you’re not able to back up can ruin your career. This brief has been a bit of a challenge due to the nature of the brief. As I’ve said before drawing/visualising sound is something that I can’t really do and it frustrates me so I don’t do it. Also I don't tend to work with urban landscapes or vehicles a lot so I lack proficiency in drawing them as well.

Collecting Observation research and concepts is something I didn’t know i’d enjoy however similar to secondary research It’s something that I find fun and easy to get in-depth with. Although visually documenting my findings on sight such as most reportage illustration isn't something I can do. I prefer to take all the information and evidence down through recordings, note takings and photographs then re group and reflect on that research most likely using further artist and secondary research to help along side drawing and then accumulating that into sketches and ideas.

Once the ideas and the media for the concept was chosen it was quite easy to start constructing the posters. Forcing myself to push my craft and be more critical of my work as I went along allowed my final pieces to thrive.

Overall This resubmission has slowed me to push the quality of my final pieces of work and to help reiterate the important of blogging. However I don’t want to end up in this position again so my focus will be to hit the module assessment criteria so that I don’t end up back in this position.
