Snap Shots Of The City

After Setting myself up in town for another day of observational drawings I came to a couple of realisations an hour or so into trying to depict the Sounds of the City I felt overwhelmed and uninspired. I work best with reflection, hindsight allows me to review and assess the information presented to me as well as stopping myself from becoming too stuck in my own head. The need for constant reflection will be crucial throughout all the progress my work goes on.

Because of this I decided to get myself a disposable camera and take pictures around the city, documenting the hustle and bustle of different parts of leeds from the more quiet areas to the louder ones. Taking photographs of single people who played the accordion or where just humming to themselves. With these images i can look at what makes the sound viable in the image and put that into my art work rather than becoming too overwhelmed and stressed by the idea of capturing sound instantaneously.
