I moved the theme away from haute couture and decided to look at how monsters would be with a urbanised culture interests me as it's taking two different cultures and ethos's one fiction and non fiction and imagining how they would work alongside one another.
I spent a lot of time on composition working out how to create the image using the rule of placing the main image slightly off centre to create make the composition of the piece more interesting.
I wanted to experiment with multi media a bit more so I used a variety of inks, coloured pencil and watercolours. The textures of the creatures contrasting with the block colours of the man creates a focus point within the piece. There is a slight sense of depth coming through with this image however it get slightly lost in all the information crammed into the format. I feel like I should have minimised the objects in the environment more or been selective over the creatures used to create a more effective image.
