- I found this at first really difficult to get into, deciding that I didn't want to focus mainly on character however with initial ideas I found it very difficult to move away from drawing full bodies. So I tried looking at more pattern and detailed based work which had its own problems as it made it difficult to recognise which city each postcard represented.
In the end I chose to focus on the idea of food based postcards; taking in Krissy-D's advice in the crits. I would focus on the foods rather than the person using a birds eye view I can use the hand to capture bits of the culture and use the plates, table cloths and foods to indicate which culture or city i am indicating. Symbolism will be crucial in this project
Another thing of importance will be composition, by keeping the composition relatively the same for each of the postcards it unifies them and allows for a cleaner more graphically led set of images that show effectively through symbolism and culture which cities/cultures they are in reference to.
