Delaroche's use of colour and value within this image pushes the main figure into the foreground and leaves the other woman in the mid/background. Using value to create both focal points and depth to an image is a really smart trick, which is something I will keep in mind when creating complex or simple images as a way of pulling a certain part of the image into the viewers direct view point.
This image reinforces Paul Delaroche's insight into creating depth in an image by adding contrasting values and colours.
Line of sight is also used in this image to draw the viewer in towards the figure.
The lecture of studio brief part 2 alongside Paul Delaroche's use of value, colour and line of sight have made it clearer to see how I can use the skills I have learnt over the last few weeks to bring a clear sense of focus within my images.
