OUIL404 Frame

  • Looking at the importance  of frame to composition and how negative space can be used to help show distance, depth or and other senses of 3 dimensionality

  • I decided to experiment with frame size not sticking to the default square or balanced rectangle I went with a longer and thin rectangle because it allowed me to emphasise the length of the elephants ears and by reasoning the size of the elephant
  • By only capturing the top of the elephant in this image I made the decision to focus on myself and the butterfly.

  • I enjoyed making this piece and it forced me to focus on how to correctly proportion images.
  • In hindsight I believe that doing this activity later than it was supposed to be impacted on what I learned from it.
  • It has solidified the importance of frame and negative space to me, something that I didn't use well in the line of sight challenge.
  • However the line of sight lecture has helped inform this piece.
